Ballistic D51 Optima Battery Box
The battery mount is very well built strength wise and I like the Allen key bolts instead of a nut and bolt to secure the battery. My only gripe is the fact that the Mount doesn’t fit the battery perfectly since we’re buying a mount for this exact battery. The tabs on the sides aren’t far enough apart for the battery to sit in flush or slide into the sides of the battery. I decided to cut one tab off and mount the battery close to a wall to secure it in. Bending them would’ve made everything worse. If they used a optima D51 battery for a test fit for they would see what I mean. Nevertheless you can’t beat the price and their shipping speed. I’d buy again if I had the space to where something didn’t have to be perfect. I wouldn’t use this mount if I were mounting the battery in any position than posts up.
Fits well
Got this and was immediately impressed with it. Great hardware and nice bends and cuts. Very happy with the finished product after powdercoat and went ahead and ordered more products from BF; wasn't sure about the yellow but with the optima in it, it really pops! Installed in my off-road trailer.
Box is nice, likes sweet, 2 problems with it (simple fixes) bolt holes in top brackets are to small for the bolts, and the end tabs should be offset to suit the cut outs in the battery, battery sits a few degrees off of square.
